Set menu 61A to cross band repeat. It sounds like you have it in locked band repeat. Make sure to turn down the power as it will easily overheat.

Also note that the lack of a built-in CW ID in both directions will make this mode of operation illegal unless you make other provisions.

I have a TS2000 but, when I want to use cross band repeat, I break out my TM-V71A, which not only does the cross band repeat but will automatically CW ID.

The TS-2000 has so many menus it's Crazy.I Hated mine so much I sold it for just $500 to get rid of it eve at a huge loss of what I paid for it.I'd never own another one for any purpose.I'd take a Baofeng over the TS-2000 or even a Cheap CB.I replaced the TS-2000 with an ICOM 910H & ICOM 821H & I could not be happier. The TS-2000 was also DEAF on every band so I don't miss it at all.My ICOM 7600 is a Superior radio on HF/6 meters so I'll stick with the ICOM brand & not deal with the crazy menus with the TS-2000 EVER again at any price. :P

Make sure the sub audible is not enabled.

The radio is a real workhorse. they always sounded very well over the air.
