FINAL FOLLOWUP:
Well, this was interesting to me. Rebooted my ASUS RT-AC66U router. Probably been several months or close to a year since done anyway. Now the mis-behaving eHam.com is loading as quick as everything else was.
Not sure if something changed in the router, or the re-boot caused something to change in the ISP's equipment.... ( a 5 GHz dish on the roof )... but all is well.
Well, that did not last very long, and only worked on my PC desktop. An hour later the sluggishness returned. Will work with my ISP to help resolve...
