Jeeze, guys! Can't I hear just one "Hoorah" for the Gipper? ("Admin's" for the football fans) LOL

Has someone, (anyone) been given a satisfactory answer recently? Am I alone in my forum enjoyment? Or have we all been given treats from the pickle factory? Can we regurgitate and get back to the joy of living?

 ... sheesh! what a buncha grouches! ... Makes me wanna go kick the cat, but she bites, scratches and sets up such a clammer that Lois comes running with a skillet and I always get the brunt of the blows. Snot worf it!  :'(

IMO, that has nothing to do with Eham. It is indeed inhabited by grouches and curmudgeons.
I get my joy elsewhere...

If you truly think Eham is great, you have set the bar pretty low!

eham requires a persevering quest for truth. Without that the trolls will take their toll and the cranks that like to fight will bite... Some are both cranks and trolls come to think of it... The low knowledge level of some that are so sure they are right would be alarming were I not used to that from childhood... The responders that don't even seem to be able to grok [that's grasp for the sci-fi illiterates among us] the questions kind of make me wonder about the future of democracies....

That was hilarious! (great tune)  I love eham because I know so little I can search for what I am needing.  I liked it so much I donated within a month of discovering it. All forums have infighting or whatever you want to call it. Actually the "Steel Guitar forum" is the most respectful I've encountered.  Then again messing around with guitars is a lot less stressful than hanging antennas. Also, posting while drinking is always iffy.... ;)

Don't get me wrong. I like EHam. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here.

I agree with you, Charlie, that there is a lot of good here and wealth of information sharing. 

The truth of the matter is the EHam "It's good enough for government work" attitude. 

I've worked with this forum platform in the past and it is not hard to configure to make work right.  Suffice it to say the website owners are lazy and don't give a damn because the website condition is good enough for government work.  I'd like to see them prove others and myself wrong.   I'll wager another $50.

Someone is paying real money to keep the site up on a server at a data-center somewhere. They charge a significant monthly fee to keep the site running. Money talks and the BS walks. Bet this site has not made a dime profit in years. It is just a personal chat room for a few old bald men arguing over a comb.

LJW: OK! I've mentioned many times that lots of changes were made while I was on "vacation" for about 25+ years and it leaves me confused when it comes to the "new" nomenclature! What in the world is "comb"? Something to do with RF? Will someone tell me?
