It is not a review, it is an advert by Flex.

Technically, it's a product (pre-advert) announcement, LOL!

But it's not FCC approved in the US as of yet. I do know know about UK or other approvals needed. Kinda like the Elecraft K4 announcement at Hamvention a year or so ago. "It's coming...."

No transmitter. Does the FCC approve of your heated coffee mug?

There is no FCC approval for a Part 97 transmitter (Dereck) nor for a tuner (Frank). Time for both of you to spend some quality time with Part 97. Then you can properly answer the question: What is the only amateur radio equipment that sometimes needs certification before being sold?

That is one ugly tuner. They should spend some dollars with Brook Stevens' firm.

Is your nose bleeding yet? Perhaps if there was a question that related to part 97, it would be answered. Time for you to come down off your elite high horse.

So where is the question Zod?

No transmitter.

No FCC approval (certification) for Part 97 transmitters.

Glen you are an elitist snob who thinks they are better than everyone else. So I am typing slowly so you understand how threads and question work.

Title: New Tuner from Flex.:
OP statement: It is not out yet or price but they have a good review on u-tube.
There is no question in the OP statement. If I made any mistake was assuming a TUNER to be either a passive device with no active electronics. If I had thought or known it had a transmitter or required FCC approval I would not have said anything. This conversation would have never taken place and you would not have a red face right now looking like the elitist snob you are.

Well, I am apparently better versed with regard to FCC regulations. But I am glad you spotted your error.

I must say, the tuner in my 6400m worked VERY well, like an Elecraft tuner, fast and wide range.
The one in my Flex 3000 is slow and not so wide range, so they are making progress...

sorry both wrong.

Your FCC wants this to be certified as a 47 Part 15 Class B device because it contains a digital processor, and must not emit excessive radiation on its own.

Nothing to do with ham radio transmitters at all.

You can both blush now.

Sorry, Ed but that is incorrect. Because the device is not a class A or B personal computer and probably has a clock speed north of 2 MHz, the manufacturer only needs to verify compliance. They can do this themselves or they can use a non-accredited lab. Nothing gets filed with the FCC - the manufacturer just retains the findings in case the FCC comes knocking. But it is not certified in any case

Incidentally, the verification procedure is commonly called SDoC (Supplier Declaration of Conformity).
