Almost had me till I couldn't find an HDMI output for an external monitor. No mention of bandwidth for multiple panadapters capable of receiving on independent bands at the same time.
Nor any clue as to whether or not an external PC on a network could share any of the radio's resources.
I had hopes that Andromeda might have those features along with better DSP functions than my Flex 6600M.
Maybe in a future version that will happen.

Interesting how manufactures forget the obvious. A HDMI driver only cost about $3.00. Yet the manufactures cling to outdated technology for a remote screen.

I was going by the PDF in the link above. The rear view of the radio shows no type of video output. Nor is it mentioned in the description.
If the PDF is inaccurate, I hope they correct it. That could cost them sales. Hopefully, there will be other features not listed in the PDF.

Just looked, no mention of HDMI. Tech download is the same. Look at the rear view,,,,no HDMI port. Nor, any other kind of video out port.
There is a DB9 port, but, it is for controlling external devices.

Ok, finally found it. HDMI port is via an external USB 3 device.
"The following Ports are available via an external USB 3.0 Hub provided with the Radio: USB 3.0 x 3, 100/1000 Ethernet, HDMI"

Glad to see that. I wonder if USB3 can handle that much load?
It will be interesting to find out.
Now, if only they would define what the " up to 7 receivers " actually means.
I have yet to see any of their products provide as many separate panadapters and
waterfalls with up to 16Mhz bandwidth each, as the Flex Radio products do.
8 for the 6700
4 for the 6500, 6600 and 6600M.
2 for the 6300, 6400 and 6400M.
Not that one needs that much bandwidth. But, it is nice to have.

From looking around, it seems things are going usb 3.0/thunderbolt instead of hdmi.

Might be similar to the custom FPGA gateware that allows 7 band skimming with the Hermes Lite 2 transceiver, IIRC, 7 separate independent HF bands with 384 kHz of bandwidth each, sent over 1 Gig Ethernet.

USB 3 and 3.1 5 and 10 GB speeds, and its not bi directional unlike the one way at a time usb 2.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_3.0

5 or 10 gb should support a lot of things....

USB3 is a bit of a game changer. All KVM switching can be handled by a USB switching box and that would include wireless keyboard/mice so less cables...

The newer laptops at work use usb3 to a dongle that has power input, two HDMI ports, the ethernet port and some usb ports on it.

10gb full duplex for the 3.1 version....

So is it a radio with a computer?  Or a computer with another radio?  (besides WiFi and Bluetooth)

Perhaps the day will come when generic computers will come with high enough speed ADCs and DACs, etc.; and one just needs to plug in an HF amp-plus-filter dongle between the computer and your antenna.

You used to be able to get the Flex 5000c with the windows computer built in.
I wonder how the radio interfaces with the computer in the Andromeda....
