April 60 Meter Outreach Interop
« on: April 05, 2021, 10:29:10 AM »

MARS operators will conduct sixty meter outreach operations with the amateur radio community from 7-10 April on sixty meters channel one, frequency 5,330.5 KHz at 1200 and 2000 hours local time.  Amateur radio operators are encouraged to take advantage of this interop exercise.  Go to www.dodmars.org to take a WWV/H listener survey.  Survey results are shared with WWV/H and NIST to help document the continued need for these stations.

For the May op...
Are SHARES stations allowed to participate using the 60m shared channels or any of the published MARS freqs? Not all SHARES stations are amateur radio operators.

If you are operating as a SHARES station, you are permitted to use the 60 meter channels as the 60 meter channels are primary use for federal stations and secondary use for amateur stations.
