Contests vs. Digital
« on: May 09, 2021, 08:20:52 AM »

simple question for you here :

Do you operate digital modes because you like to,
or
do you operate digital modes because the 100's of contests drive you off the cw / ssb portions of the bands and force you to operate digital or not at all?

During contest do what I and others joining forces do. Have conversation with yourself or others at legal limit power on as many frequencies as you can. Really fun  and makes Contesters really angry.

I operate 'digital' modes because I like to - -  and since the vast majority are on WSJT's  FT8 mode,  that is where I operate.   Since these modes only operate in a tiny sliver of spectrum,  I do not see what the issue is for CW and Phone contesters......
