It's funny... millions of people listen, daily, to Dave Ramsey on the radio for financial advice. Guess what? He went bankrupt. Let's not forget Walt Disney or even Abraham Lincoln.

A quick Google search returns hundreds, if not thousands of well-known people that have filed for bankruptcy. Laws exist for a reason, just like rules/policies. Luckily, the U.S. Government enforces laws whereas AMSAT-NA does not enforce its rules/policies.

Since it's obvious someone wants to try to embarrass me. I have no problem saying that I filed for bankruptcy many, many years ago. It saved me tens-of-thousands of dollars by denying an ex-wife from receiving those monies. Thanks to being better educated by the process, I now understand why prenuptial, civil agreements are very important. There's no shame in bankruptcy, it's part of American law and used everyday. It was designed to protect people. Just because someone files for bankruptcy does not mean they are a 'bad' person. Any attempt to make people think otherwise is just silly.

What is spooky is that AMSAT-NA and their titled representatives will actually do background searches on members that disagree with legacy leadership of the organization in an attempt to embarrass them into submission. I'm not embarrassed but am happy to point-out that this is the business that AMSAT-NA is operating and operating it in a manner that is simply disgusting.

Once again, back to my question. If you were running a business, how would you operate it?

It's good that the worldwide amateur radio community can learn that the leaders of AMSAT-NA and their titled representatives will act in this manner. Does the ARRL do this? Nope.

So, to anyone that is considering joining AMSAT-NA or is a current member and doesn't agree with the leadership, be careful. They will run a background check on you to search for public records. Anyone that disagrees with the current leadership of AMSAT-NA should not ever be embarrassed or be forced into staying quiet. If you do so, you aren't doing your fellow amateur radio peers any favors.

Is this how to run a business? Is this how to attract newcomers and retain current customers?

I am quite confident that I am not the only AMSAT-NA member that has ever filed bankruptcy nor will I be the last. This thread is a GREAT opportunity to show the amateur radio world how AMSAT-NA operates. It's really spooky.

Is this how you would run your business?

I really don't care that 'The Ambassador' posts this kind of stuff. It just furthers my points about the government of AMSAT-NA. Like I said, the amateur radio world is watching. Nobody wants to support an organization that operates in this manner.

Does AMSAT-NA do background checks on their titled representatives? They probably should since this quick Google searched turned-up lots of red flags on 'The Ambassador':

Now that we have gotten the nasty stuff out of the way, I'll ask again, how would you run your business. Would it be in a manner such as 'The Ambassador' has shown AMSAT-NA runs theirs or would your business be more forthcoming, transparent and welcoming of new ideas?

Only AMSAT-NA members can decide that for AMSAT-NA. If they are happy with the organization being viewed in its current manner, they will reelect those who have done nothing but drag down the organization. If they want something different, they will nominate and vote for new leadership.

Should AMSAT-NA, as a business, only accept people that are able to actually properly utilize an amateur radio satellite? I mean, after all, AMSAT-NA seems to like doing background checks. Why would there be an AMSAT-NA Ambassador with video evidence on YouTube of not being able to use a satellite?

Here's a couple of videos, straight from YouTube. Please note, I'm not the one that recorded these videos. Also please note that I never call anyone a "unit" on amateur radio:

Granted, we are all amateurs and we all make faux pas. Heck, even professionals occasionally make mistakes but... well...

If you were running a business, would you verify someone's resume and if they told you they were an expert, confirm it? In fact, if they repeatedly tried to convince people they were an expert, wouldn't you really take a look at them more closely since those that have to brag typically are the type of person that really isn't an expert.

Once again, if you were to run a business, how would you operate it? The current operation of AMSAT-NA is one way to do it but there's another way to operate which would provide better Yelp reviews.
