Or a very heavy TS-950SD to a ham who drops it trying to get it out of the package and in place, then starts a claim. The seller is absolutely defenseless with eBay.

Don't use them for anything other than parts and trinkets.

What the purchaser will find out, if they implement the 11 meter modification, is that they no longer will be able to just select channel 1-40. They will have to know the frequency of each channel they operate on. Every time he/she changes channel, he/she will have to convert a channel number to a frequency. Maybe the memories could be programmed, but it will still complicate the operation. It's a waste to use such a capable radio on a small sliver of frequencies.

If the purchaser doesn't have any real experience modifying radios, there is a good chance the radio will never work again. And, wait till he/she finds out how much DC power the radio requires. His Radio Shack 3 amp supply isn't going to cut it.

1) Partially  true, but the memory system can be set up 1-40 with those frequencies! Works fine.

2) I would not sell a radio to an unknown person who intends  to modify it either. Especially if you are using  paypal or some way he can reverse the charges after he destroys your radio!
