Hey guys;
I have a Yaesu FT-450D which I purchased about 3-1/2 years ago on Ebay in like-new condition, but hardly used.
I am considering selling my radio, but I have 'hacked' the power cable to fit my station configuration. It was not used as a mobile rig, but at home with an Astron RS-35M power supply.
In order to have the shortest possible cable, I cut the OEM cable in two places - so that I would have the fuses near the source end, and still have the connector at the other end.
I had a barrier strip about 18in behind the radio to which I attached the FT-450D power cable and branched to lower current (fused) lines to the Diamond SX200 wattmeter (it has a 12V input for its lamp).
Anyway; If I am going to sell the radio, I would like to provide the proper power cable - without any splices.
The Yaesu part number listed in the manual is: T9025225.
The cable I received with the radio was about 8ft long overall, but the cables I am finding on Amazon and Ebay are only 3ft.
I found the Yaesu cable on HRO, but no length is specified.
I guess it really doesn't matter what the length of the cable I supply with the radio is, so long as it is good quality and has the fuses (on both leads).
At this point, I am not at all sure I want to sell the radio, but after checking out several pre-owned FT-450D on Ebay, I am surprised to find that the radio appears to hold its value very well,
so I might be able to get about the same price I paid for it.
Anyone have any info on the cable, or recommendation for a good replacement?
Thanks
