HVAC Carrier AC and Heater RFI

Does anyone have specific information on where and how they added ferrites to the variable speed controller on a Carrier AC and Heater unit?

You put them on all the leads, as close as possible, going in and out of the controller. You will need to make 7-9 turns around a type 61 or 43 mix. Clamping them on the wire with no turns is a very low inductance. The inductance goes up by the square of the turns.

Contact a Carrier dealer to see if there is a maintenance bulletin on RFI suppression.

Thanks for the responses.  I have added toroids to the input and output.  I made a PDF of what al I did but I don't see a way to attach it. If anyone would like to read the PDF just leave your email.

I would be interested in the PDF you created for your Carrier furnace/AC RFI resolution, please see my email in QRZ.   I also came across this information on the subject as well.

There is a PDF presentation on the ARRL website covering this issue.
