having to login twice
« on: August 18, 2021, 04:43:56 AM »

I normally log in on the home page, take a quick look at the latest happenings then head to the forums.
For the last 3 days, I have had to log in again when hitting the first forum page.
Anyone else having this issue?

On my google search screen I have a button configured for eHam. I just press the button and I am connected. If I threw away the cookies from eHam, that would be different. But I haven't had any issues lately. It never askes me to log in and I never actually log out. I just discard the tab when I am done.

The only issue I have is that, the "post" links in the forums goes away after about a week of connecting this way. It shows that I am logged in but I can't post. A quick log out and log in fixes the issue for another week.

Try logging out deliberately then logging back in.
Also try deleting cookies and/or cache .

Every once in a while I get into a mode where it shows me logged in but there are never any new posts listed in the forums. Logging out and then back in has always corrected the issue.

Can you describe the "password change issues" you are having?

Try changing your email on this web site; it is a joke; I had a easier time with my bank and my airline's frequent flier account.

I changed the email in my eHam account very recently. No issues at all. I just went in and changed some of my profile information. Again, no issues.

Some folks do enter a kind of vortex whereby their browser cookies or cached pages get out of sync and the best way to fix it is to simply clear them.  Having multiple tabs open when they try to perform some of these actions seems to also exacerbate the log-in/email-change verification issue.

Cleared everything in the browser and in Windows.
Not really a problem, just a bit of aggravation.
Still don't know why, but I still have to log on twice.

Have you tried
1) closing all browsers,
2) opening ONE browser
3) going to eham
4) logging out deliberately ( logging in first if necessary)
5) then closing the browser.

Then re-opening the browser and coming to eham and logging in.

I would suspect a browser settings. Do you allow 3rd party cookies? I have "Block third-party cookies in Incognito" checked, but I allow all other cookies. However, I never actually run in the "Incognito" mode.

Currently I have three browser windows open, with greater than 20 tabs open in each browser window. I run like this all the time and have no issues with easily getting in and out of eHam, QRZ, or any other site.

The only issue I have is that, the "post" links in the eHam forums goes away, after about a week of connecting this way. It shows that I am logged in, but I can't post. A quick log out and log in fixes the issue for another week. I just had this issue when trying to post to this thread.
