CW Filters for TT Eagle
« on: September 29, 2021, 07:14:41 AM »

I would like to add a CW filter to my Ten Tec Eagle. But Ten Tec and INRAD no longer stock them. Does anyone know where such filters can be purchased?
 Thanks, Mike, K2TPZ.

Unfortunately those are really hard to find.  About all you can do is keep looking, one might pop up now and then.  Sorry, but that is going to be a very difficult find.

Have you called TT to ask about the filter?  I got this from them in mid-June.

"We have the 600 Hz CW filter in stock for the Eagle . We do not have available the
300 Hz filters at this time. If you would like to order you can call 865-365-2295.

Thank You
Ten-Tec Service Department"

I have an Eagle with the 600Hz and it works well on any narrower settings of the DSP filter, I'm constantly changing it from around 200-550Hz when on the air.  I don't think a 300Hz roofing filter would be necessary anyway, although I don't have huge antennas.

How much trouble and expense are you willing to endure? There's a one-owner "mint TT Eagle w full complement of filters on eBay right now. 15 bids and $616 (!) so far. You could, I suppose, bid on it, and if you get it, pull the filter and try to resell the extra rig for a lower price after pulling the filter. Methinks you'd lose money that way, but maybe not so much as to make the idea totally absurd. It's a lot of bother for a filter. It might be more reasonable to look for a "parts only" Eagle if you can verify that it has the wanted filter. A saved search on eBay for the exact filter w part number might eventually turn up just the filter. I'd definitely try that route. And, certainly post a WANTED classified on eHam.net. Good luck from another TT owner!

At this point I’m not willing to purchase a second Eagle to obtain CW Filters. Eventually one might show up. I’ve reached out to several crystal and ham outlets as well as on forums such as Eham. I can be very patient. Thanks for your input. Mike
