Winkeyer
« on: October 03, 2021, 08:41:39 PM »

I have a Winkeyer USB I made from a kit as well as a Timewave Navigator with Winkeyer built in. Version 2 in the Navigator.

Sometimes when it sends on the very first dit or dah it lengthens that dit or dah then the entire rest is fine. Anyone know what causes that? It does it on both units.

Rig is a 7600. Using the Timewave USB driver (FTDI). Win7 SP1 x64. Software is N1MM+ and its set to Winkey.

Are both keyers doing that stand-alone, i.e. not connected to your rig or any software?

If so, there is a WinKeyer parameter that will lengthen the first dit or dah called 1st Element Extension. That parameter lets you lengthen the first element in increments of 1ms up to 99 ms. It is intended for use with old xcvrs with slow VOX or other setups where the rig or switching shortens that first element.

Depends on how old your Winkeyer is on how that parameter is set, but look in whatever .pdf file manual for your keyers and look for 1st (or "First" as it different versions of the manual use 1st or First) Element Extension and see how it is set.
