No response from QRP Guys
« on: October 06, 2021, 06:16:28 AM »

I really like QRP Guys kits and designs. I've built several of them and they generally work as advertised.

My complaint with QRP Guys, they have never responded to my emails over the last couple of years, including the replacement of missing parts. I realize they're a small operation, but they do take our money, so someone should be responsible for answering emails and definitely replacing missing parts.

I'll still buy their kits knowing I'm on my own if I have problems with them.

I had a similar experience with them.

I ordered a kit (the SWR Meter/Dummy Load), and it arrived for the wrong circuit board. I emailed their contact address and someone got back to me the next day I think, saying they would send the correct board.

A couple weeks went by and I never received anything or heard from them. So I emailed them again.

And again.

And Again.

I finally resorted to opening a PayPal dispute, which got them to respond lickety-split.

I finally got everything I needed to build the kit over a month after my initial order. They are nice kits but the follow-through if you have an issue is pretty poor, unfortunately.

Give them a break. Their a small company that does not have employees on a full-time status. They offer great products at very good prices. I've built their offerings and while they don't emulate Amazon the job gets done. No whining necessary. Just be patient.

LOL

"Whining"   ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

How long do you have to wait without response before it's OK to feel like you've been taken advantage of?

8 weeks?

12 weeks?

12 years?

The OP waited "a couple of years" to hear back about missing parts. Guess that's not enough time for you.

Please enlighten us, how long are you supposed to wait before you're allowed to "whine" about not receiving what you paid for?

Forever, if their product is still a lot cheaper than me buying and kitting all the parts myself.  Or than buying from a vendor big enough to hire some full-time rapid shipping, phone support, and QA people (is that Heathkit?)

I did have to wait about 2 or 3 weeks for some missing diodes in one kit.

I agree cutting them some slack, up to a point. Seems to me if they took a bit more time and made sure each order/kit was correct, it would save them time and expense, as well as their reputation. Just thinking outloud.
