Picked up a TYT MD-390 for $50 at a local hamfest back in July. Have had nothing but software and programming issues with it for the last three months and the radio at this rate is pretty useless to me other than using it for regular analog communications.
I download and install the driver and programming software from the TYT website. The software on my windows 10 computer does install and I can do what I have to do with it. The driver installs, but, when connecting the radio to the computer and attempting to either read data from radio or send data to radio, a pop up comes up saying that the driver is "occupied or not connected". Sometimes another pop up from the side comes in saying the unknown device did not install properly. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled this driver a number of times and the same stuff keeps on happening.
Here is what amazes me:
I have another laptop that originally ran windows 7 from about 2009-2010ish that sat on my shelf for about 6-7 years until recently and installed windows 8 on it and somewhat got rid of the virus that infected the hard drive. Get windows 8 running on it but runs slow, better than nothing. Go to the TYT website download the software and driver no problem. No connection issues between the radio and computer no problem sending or receiving data to and from the radio etc.... Windows 10 will not do this.... Windows 8 does?

That was just one issue:
The part of New York I live in there are 5 DMR repeaters. And there is a website which I will link right here if you want to look at what im trying to program.
https://sites.google.com/site/wnydmrw2brw/homeNow with the windows 8 computer I did my zones for my analog repeaters, and our local IRLP reflector repeaters in their own zone. No problem works fine.
Each DMR repeater has it own zone, with 8 channels in it for the same repeater because they have 8 talk groups on each repeater. I have all the talkgroups on that webpage programmed into the Digital contacts on the software, and I also have the rx groups set up with all the available groups added into the contact member. For local communications on any of the repeaters its Talkgroup 2 time slot 2, color code 1 on all repeaters. Every other talkgroup is on timeslot 1 color code 1.
I have a channel for each repeater for local, timeslot 2 talk group 2 color code 1, Admit criteria: color code, In call criteria: follow admit criteria, Contact name local, Group list: WNY Digital which has all the talk groups in the channel member.
Same goes for the rest of the talkgroups on this system except its timeslot 1, the talkgroup number(digital contact) color code one.
Analog works fine, Digital i think i key up the repeaters i have signal indication, receive light comes on and turns green, no audio out of the speaker, ive even tried echo test it comes back but no audio on the receive end. Theres times ill go into a zone for one repeater see signal and receive indication but no audio on more than one talk group at once but no receive audio.
Could this be that since local is on a different time slot than everything else, that i need to create an individual zone for each repeater dedicated to local because the time slot is different than the rest local uses time slot 2 everything else uses timeslot 1, could this be creating an issue? So basically local would be an individual zone for each repeater with one channel each then separate zone for each repeater with 7 channels for the other talkgroups using timeslot one?
