Hey guys;
I own the following Yaesu V/UHF HT's:
Yaesu Ft-530 (still works 100% after all these years)
Yaesu FT-60R (my 'go-to' HT)
Yaesu/Vertex VX-150 (modified to receive above 148MHz).
I would love to get a Bluetooth 'dongle' that I could plug into the mic/phone jack on the radio to allow me to hear and talk on the radio through my Jabra Elite Active 75t IEM's, while at the same time listening to an audiobook or music on the run.
I Googled and found that such a device does exist, but I would like some advice on which device I should buy.
Here is one that I found through a Google search:
https://www.twowayradio.com/prymeblu-bt-502-wireless-bluetooth-adapter.htmlThis device appears to be what I am looking for, but I would like to get some input from other users.
I would be using the device while out running. I am wearing Jabra Elite Active 75t IEM's which are paired with my Android phone using the SBC (unfortunately) codec.
I know that the Jabra will pair with more than one device simultaneously, as I have had it paired with both my phone and my Windows PC.
What I would hope for is that I will be monitoring one of my favorite repeaters on the FT-60 through the IEM's while at the same time listening to an audiobook or music.
If I hear a call come from the radio, I want to be able to switch to it and pause the music.
I don't know how automatic any of these devices are; I just had the idea that such a device probably exists, and Googled it.
Oh, and I would want to be darn sure than any audio from my phone didn't get through to the radio. That would be bad; if I were to play music over 2m or 70cm... So I really want to be sure the device won't somehow act as a host and pair with the phone in such a way as to stream music from the phone to the radio instead of from the IEM's mic to the radio when I transmit.
If this won't work, I might consider purchasing a bran-new dual-band HT that would include Bluetooth.
After all, XMAS is coming!!!
Thanks for your help/advice
