Accessories For Icom IC-705
« on: November 05, 2021, 08:49:34 PM »

New to QRP and the IC705. I'm looking for several accessories including:

Cage
Case
Extra Batteries
Tuner
Portable Antenna
Antenna Bracket
12V Batteries & charger
Loop Antenna

I've already ordered a CHAMELEON ANTENNA MPAS 2.0 Portable HF Antennas MPAS-2-0 as I live in a HOA development.

Any other accessories please let me know,  Thank you !

Sounds like you have all the accessories...  Perhaps a large duffel bag to carry everything.

Have fun!

I use an LDG AT-100PorII tuner with mine. It can be set for either 125 watts or 12.5 watts which makes it ideal for the 705 at either QRP level or full power. The 12.5 watt setting gives a good accurate reading and if you ever do add an amp or want to use the tuner with a 100 watt rig it will be fine for that too. Using 75 feet of coax from the tuner to an end balun fed 31 foot wire it tunes 40-30-20-17-15 -10 with no counterpoise or radials of ground rod. I work lots of QSOs that way including lots of DX and easily work the "rare" states like ND, SD, MT, WY, AK and easily check in to SSB nets. If I knew what I know now before I bough it I would spend the $$ and buy it. Its a very nice companion to the 705 and works easily/well/reliably.

I highly recommend the mAT-705Plus tuner. This antenna tuner works very well and integrates very nicely with the IC-705 for either portable or fixed use. It is also very compact unlike the Icom companion tuner which looks bigger than the rig.

I was even able to use this tuner to match my house rain-gutters on 160m so the tuning range is very good !

Cheers
