ROBOT 1200C SSTV SOFTWARE
« on: November 07, 2021, 03:09:46 PM »

I am looking for roughly 40 year old software.  Software to control a Robot 1200C SSTV
scan converter.  I have attempted  to contact all the old authors that I remember from the 1980's.
None have replied.  I imagine that many if not all have gone SK.  Searching the web finds
software, but the links are dead.  The Software is DOS and on floppy disks.  I am building a
Legacy SSTV Station like I ran in the 1980's.  Everything is now in my shop except software.

If anyone reading this has Robot 1200C DOS software that they are willing to part with, please contact me.  There were quite a few different authors writing software for the Robot 1200c, I would be thrilled with any version.  I am not a programmer.
Thank You

Morning Paul
You might look at this link
https://www.classicsstv.com/
I know he has a 1200c working with a windows 10 box. Over the years he has done a lot with
SSTV.
Good Luck

Going back a few (more than a few) years worked lots of SSTV with the Robot 400 but did not own a 1200.  Still have a couple of the 800 terminals which are great RTTY terminals and used to generate titles etc. on the screen for SSTV.  I understand the interest in vintage gear it's a large part of the hobby for me.  These days I find the MMSSTV program with an interface like the SignaLink suits my needs.

Thanks for the info on Paul G4IJE.  I have chatted with Paul Via email.  He has written software to communicate with his Robot 1200c
which works wonderfully well.  It also required an extensive interface.
However, he will not release the software nor interface. Its for his use only.

I do enjoy working with Vintage equipment.  To me, half the fun in Ham Radio is design and building.  When I started collecting Vintage SSTV equipment to duplicate the SSTV station I ran in the 80's, I thought this would be a somewhat simple project.  Even Martin Emmerson still supports the Robot 1200c with his EPROM and detailed instructions.  I would have never guessed that software would be the stone wall.   Back in the day, there were many authors
writting for the Robot 1200c.  None respond to my emails and in 2 cases a USPS letter.  Its a long time ago and I believe most have gone SK.  I wish I knew how to program and my problem would be over.  But at 78, it woudl take a long time to learn programming and get it working.  I still hold hope that some ham somewhere would have the old software I need sitting in a closet.  We hams dont like to toss stuff Hi.  I would be pleased to purchase any software found
