Apple OS update
« on: November 13, 2021, 05:00:35 AM »

Updated to OS Monterrey and had trouble with website entries. Sign in's jumped over and website descriptions given instead. Tried to back out and got dumped out. Geek squad changed to Chrome OS for a temporary fix. Suggest not updating yet to save a lot of frustration. Can now log into my bank account for bill pay!

Bill:

The upgrade to Monterrey went smoothly on my M1 Mac Mini.

There was an update to Safari at the same time as the Monterrey release, as well as, several other updates, I believe there were 4 updates that coincided with the Monterrey update.  Perhaps the difficulty with your system is related to all the updates occurring at the same time.

Check your Mac to see if there are any outstanding updates for your system.  This, is the only thing I can think of that might help.

Good luck,

Bill, I upgraded to Monterey after reading your post. I have no issues so far. My iMac is a year old with the Intel Chip. I have no advice to offer, sorry. Mark

I have a mid-2017 MBP, and my upgrade went without a hitch.

Running Big Sur on my MacBook Air.   Thinking about upgrading to Monterey but not in a hurry
will wait for more positive info.   Can we go back to a previous mac OS if we have problems ?

I upgraded my M1 MacBook from Big Sur to Monterey with no issues.  All my SDR and other radio software worked the same as before.

Make sure not to use any of the earlier Monterey beta's or earlier Safari Technology Preview beta's, as some of them had weird UI issues.
