My son is a Audio Video installer, I was going to buy a Samsung curved TV until he told me not to waste my money on it. He installs Samsung TV's. Walmart had them on sale also..but I passed and bought a flat screen..

We issue two monitor configurations at work:
Option One,   A single curved 34 inch Dell monitor.  Dam sharp looking and presents a pretty good workspace.
or
Option Two, two 27 inch Dell monitors. Numbers wise, this is more real estate. Depending on what kind of worker or viewer you are -- this might be better.

The best thing to do is go to the stores where they're on display and see what your eyes say.  I work in IT everyday and go from there.  I have seen some really long curved monitors that look - eh - 'too curved' or 'too big'. Not sure how to describe it.  I can tell you, the curved 34 inch Dell monitors are a hit with our folks.

Yes, I have a 34” Dell curved monitor. It’s a better view than the 32” flat panel that it replaced. Of course, it is higher resolution, too. But I find it worth the upgrade.

I have a wide curved monitor in my software environment. It's too wide but were it in a radio environment it would be great to run it like two screens with several programs on it at once... I feel that the curved design actually makes it easier on my eyes.

I have curved monitors on my work computer, and they make life easier. My ham radio computer only has flat screen monitors, but I will replace with curved units when it is time. (They do not have to be super wide.)

I think a lot will depend on the layout of your shack and your style of operation. A curved monitor requires you to sit relatively still and at the focus of the curve if you are to gain any benefit from it - that is not my style. I have two reasonably large wide-screen flat monitors on cantilever arms clamped to the back of my desk - they sit above the radios and their positions are adjustable. I find that this works best for me - I can move the monitors to reflect the way I'm operating or working. Most of the time, one is positioned above each radio and I distribute the application windows to match the radio I'm using and the type of operation. I also do most of my construction and programming at the same desk and I can rearrange the monitors to suit.

I can see some potential benefit in curved screens for very large TVs used for entertainment, but I'm a lot less convinced for relatively small monitors that you are going to sit close to.

I use two 27" Samsung curved monitors at my operating station. I wouldn't wat to go back to flat screens. I have them on a twin monitor clamp on stand. They are elevated and edge to edge about 7" off my desk. This gives me more room for speakers located under the monitors. I like my setup. The idea that you have to stay in one spot to gain any benefit is unfounded. Now if we are discussing curved televisions in a viewing room this may be true. Different people like different things.

I have one program that I have to use for hours five days a week, business, not radio, that has some fonts that cannot be changed. On the 32" monitor they are tiny... there's that
