Yaesu FT-840 10m tones?
« on: November 19, 2021, 06:20:37 AM »

I did this quick video on YT -- called "FT-40 tones".
All up and down 10 meters (everywhere) I hear this tone that I don't have on any other band. It's midrange, maybe 1khz or so. Radio is on AM. I have no idea what this is. -- thanks for any help.

Thought it might be some sort of calibration tone or something but don't hear it on other bands and don't see any function on the radio for that.

Local RFI ??? Maybe a computer or wal-wart?? could be many things.
Power radio via battery and kill main breaker.

Good luck.

Turns out it's my wireless router. Guess I'll just turn it off when I'm on 10.
