Xiegu 108 Small Signal Board?
« on: November 26, 2021, 03:09:40 AM »

I picked up an X108 and the Small Signal Board is different from the published one.

Mine has a receiver problem and it is pretty hard to troubleshoot.   Here is a picture of mine, note the receiver mixer ADE-1 is in a different location. http://electronicinstrument.com/x108ssb.jpg

I fixed one of those 2 months ago for a ham in Austin.

In the end the radio worked fine but the guy in Austin stiffed me but still he also wanted my repair notes but since he never intended to pay me I just burned my note book and never looked back at deciding to never fixing anybody's radios ever again, especially poorly designed and horribly assembled Chicom crap.

It's easy to repair and work on and It turned out to be poor soldering and numerous dross/flux residue all over the board causing shorts and poor contact.

The soldering and overall assembly of those radios is terrible.

Thank you for your reply.  Yes I see much soldering / desoldering on mine.
I have the schematic but the board layout is not what is published so will take my time.
Sorry you got burned on the repair.  I dont work on repairs for anyone, just to keep my mind active, LOL.
