FT-857D Beeps when signal is received on scan
« on: November 29, 2021, 06:42:46 PM »

I just figured out how to set my 857D to scan memory channels today but I can't figure out how to turn off the 2-tone beep when a signal is received during scan. I've been through the manual several times and must be missing something. Everything is working the way it should re: scanning. Scans fine and when someone keys up it stops, but beeps twice with the high-low beeps. Is there a way to turn them off? I did find out how to reduce the beep volume, so I guess I could set it to zero, but that probably applies to all beeps in all modes, no?

Thanks. 73

Prevailing wisdom says the answer you seek is on page 94 ot the manual.
set beep volume to zero in menu item 14

Thanks. I guess that's the only way. I did find that setting, just hoped there was one specifically for the scan receive.
