RFI Free Security Cameras?
« on: November 30, 2021, 03:56:11 PM »

Can anyone recommend security cams that are RFI free? I prefer something wireless that records.

I have few different Nest cameras throughout the house, both indoor and outdoor.
There's zero noise or interference to my HF or VHF gear.

Can't say the same about my neighbor's Ring floodlight.
When it turns on, I get very bad noise on 80m.

Thanks.

I heard Ring had a bad rep with hams using HF.

I'll look into the nest cameras.

I have the Ring system cameras. One is the Ring Doorbell and the other is in the back driveway. I have had no problems with them on any of my radios. Both are on Wyfi.
Maybe I am just lucky.

Have been using for about 3 yrs a security system with 4 Arlo Ultra wireless cameras around outside of house that record.  No RFI from/to the system noticed on any ham bands 160-6m with power up to kw (100w on 6m).
