I just wanted to share with you all that I was successful in downloading an SSTV image from the ISS starting at 8:56 UTC, at 145.800 (compensating for doppler of course) on December 28th.  It's not the best image (it was an image of the "EU Large Logistics Lander"), but then again, I have never used an SSTV program before in my life so I was quite pleased when it worked out.  I did get the full image with some distortion and only one portion slightly blanked out.

I am mailing away for the QSL.  I will put it next to my QSL of my two-way packet QSO with the MIR space station.  Now, I just have to get lucky and have a two-way QSO with an astronaut on the ISS.

Lots of fun.  I want to do it again!

Don't over-think Doppler on this strong 2M frequency! Did you really realize a dramatic difference in reception?

I actually didn't notice.  And, for Doppler, all I did was enable the AFC on my radio.  I was watching the display on the bandscope, and it just kept the signal centered all the way through the pass.  Thus, I have no idea what the reception would have been had I not done that.  Another factor is that, right now, most of the good passes for my QTH happen at odd hours (this pass was at 2AM and was the first pass in a long stretch - plus, it was only a 19 degree pass at zenith).

What a great week! Just posted the list of SEVERAL "diplomas" you can
request ... as well as a QSL card from the ISS!
