Want to tell the world that DXE is not the God of radio world. I have been banned twice, yes twice, seems they can't make up their mind. I sent a new 7300 back within days due to a sound card problem which they failed to find, so a couple weeks later I was banned for the second time:) First time I was banned because I sent back a FT891. I gave them plenty of money over the years but they didn’t care, I was labeled. So all you folks out that believe DXE walks on water, buyer beware of returns least you too be spanked and shown the door condemned forever more in radio hell.

I had one guy there yell at me when I asked about a problem I was having, I should have taken the clue right then and there to never patronize those crazies again. I did tell K3LR about that incident and was told, "we can do better". Yeah they did better by banning me:)  “ I still have that email”

I am not perfect and trust me neither is DXE by any measure. HRO will forever more get my business like they have since the early 80's. DXE is close to me and next day delivery was reason I even bothered with them in the first place. If it’s too good to be true, (DXE) well you have been warned and told the truth.

Like W0CKI said, I'd like to hear DXE's side of the story. But we'll never be told.

I was in retail for over 40 years (ownership, management, sales), and I never had an experience where a customer was "banned" from my business. Believe me, I've dealt with some pretty unreasonable people over the years. Something must have been quite egregious for DXE to "ban" you from giving them your money ;).

I too would like to hear the other side of the story.   Lengthy diatribe but there is more to this story than is being told.   I'm guessing they didn't find the "sound card problem" with the 7300 because it was a pilot problem to begin with.   Sounds like you're fiddling with FT8 and to return a radio because you can't figure out your computer software might get you on a list.   And if you returned the FT-891 for the same problem?  Well I'm just guessing...   

Again...  there is the other side.   Until then I won't change my shopping habits with DXE.

FYI DXE is not the only ham radio dealer; you have many to choice from!!!!

I just checked out N2SR's site he posted. The guy's a "serial returner". AL80B (after 5 months), Kenwood radio, FT891, IC-7300. And those are just the ones he told us about. Seems like he got his money back or an exchange each time. Once a DXE sales guy screamed at him over the phone, and K3LR apologized to him. The other side of the story........?

As others have said there are 2 sides to a story. I found this interesting:

Fan stopped working on a new 7300. Sent it in on Monday had it back that Saturday working as new again. Faster than I could even believe possible. Never had that with the other big names and sure I never will! THANK YOU MATT!!

Amazon has a distinct policy of purchase vs. return ratio. It is not unusual for a company to examine that issue along with other mitigating (translated aggravating) events to eventually get the boot.

Thankfully my Amazon purchases extremely outweigh my returns. They love me. ;D

My experiences have only been very good with DXE, HRO, GigaParts and MTC along with the tech departments at LDG, Elecraft and many more.

Either I am lucky or polite...........maybe a bit of both.

It should be obvious to even the most casual reader his rant is meaningless.  I like others have had excellent results with DXE.  It would be interesting to hear DXE's side of his story.   ;D

I have been a customer of theirs for many years. Some bigger purchases -- new transceivers at well over $1,000 each --- small dollar purchases like a few connectors or a premade coax pigtail. EVERY time I was well served and what I bought was exactly what I expected. My experience with them has been 100% positive.

Obviously any business dealing is between a customer and a seller and any transaction could go well or poorly for a variety of reasons and circumstances. I don't have any vested interest in them so it's not personal -- I just have good respect for their company and their staff.

Thank you Kaptain Obvious. The point being after having the radio repaired once and being happy, He decided with the next problem He’d try to grab a full refund from DXE. Hence why most here feel there is more to the story!
