DXE never banned me for a return. I found their Customer Service outstanding!

As others have said there are 2 sides to a story. I found this interesting:

K3EY   Rating:    2021-01-12   Send this review to a friend
BEST OF THE BEST   Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Fan stopped working on a new 7300. Sent it in on Monday had it back that Saturday working as new again. Faster than I could even believe possible. Never had that with the other big names and sure I never will! THANK YOU MATT!!

Many retailers' computer systems track a customer's return rate. If the frequency of returns results in an overall financial loss, they can refuse to sell to you.

His review you pointed out for a 7300 fan repair was for Matt at SAR Technical Services, not DXE.
Thank you Kaptain Obvious. The point being after having the radio repaired once and being happy, He decided with the next problem He’d try to grab a full refund from DXE. Hence why most here feel there is more to the story!

Kaptain Obvious here ;):  The one repaired by Matt was shown as "Time owned: more than 12 months", thus out of warranty. The 7300 he referred to here was "new back within days" of purchase. Did you stop to think that maybe it was a different 7300? The SAR repair is irrelevant to this discussion.

So he bought a second one and decided the 7300 wasn’t for him after all. Not buying it. If you search some of his posts you’ll see he thinks between the 7300 and the 590SG that the 590SG is the better choice. So why would he buy two 7300s. As Judge Judy says: If it doesn’t make sense……

Why wouldn't he buy two 7300's? I bought two 7300's ;). I'm not searching any more of his posts because you're always right about everything ::). I'll take your word for it.

73 and Merry Xmas,

It's all good, Charlie. I like to rattle his cage because he's always right and everyone else is wrong (in his own mind). Also to see what little name he calls me. This time it's "Kaptain Obvious". On another of his rants when I didn't agree with him, I was "Turtle Wax". I'm sure he'll remember that one ;). Fun.

Turtle Wax was a good 👍 one!
Now I look in the mirror to see if God or Karma is going to punish me. 🤣
And for the record I am not always right but most of the time I am correct when I think someone is talking out their  arse.

Merry Christmas ⛄🎄 to all!
It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!!

Maybe it's just me as I never returned a radio while being a ham for 30 years. I just don't see the point. Sounds like the problem big box stores have during the Super Bowl, people buying large screen TVs and returning them a few days after the game. Some people feel entitled to a free rental.

I don't want to contribute to anyone else's rant on DXE; after all, over the last 10-15 years I've gotten good service from them. However, in the hopes someone there reads these comments, my experience of late has been disappointing. I'm only a day away from DXE as the UPS truck flies, yet my last two or three orders have been very slow to arrive, one even sat ready to be shipped from DXE for days without even being shipped. I had to cancel the order after a week of it sitting there and ended up buying from Gigaparts, which arrived quick. Oh I know the Pandemic has wreaked havoc with their delivery schedule as per their website, but geez guys, their service after the sale is turning into Newman from the old Seinfeld show: maybe it gets delivered, maybe not.

So something that should have arrived the next day, is going to be next week, maybe. They've changed, and not in a good way.

I am in effect retracting my previous comments because I got a phone call today from a very pleasant Maria who had been tasked by Tim to reach out to me to see what they could do to make things better. I cannot think of any occasion in which a dealer, retailer or whatever took the time to made an effort to see how they could make improvements for my experience. Needless to say we had a good conversation and came to an understanding which in my book places DX Engineering at the top of the hill. Not only will they be my first choice, but my second as well. Tim Duffy takes the time to see what his customers think about the company and if things aren't right he makes an effort to address any concerns. This is old fashioned thinking which as far as I'm concerned is how good companies ought to be. It's not to say that the customer is always right, but to take a personal interest and wanting to make sure that the customer feels valued is something very rare today. Kudos to Tim Duffy, Maria, and DX Engineering. You guys are the best!

I think when it comes to buying ANYTHING - If you play nice, they will play nice. If you come on like a YouTube Karen well, you can guess where that goes.
