Looking for Advice about my Alinco DJ-C1T and DJ-C4T Ham Radios
« on: January 02, 2022, 03:42:44 PM »

I'm new to the Forum, Hello to all! I've been working for a group of radio stations in Colorado and love being on the airwaves, so It's pretty cool to connect to these forums. I may learn so much more about our technology!

That's not the reason I'm posting here. I actually have a set of Alinco Pocket sized Ham Radios. They were given to me recently along with a couple of really nice 2way radios which I'm keeping. Unfortunately, I don't have the chargers for these two Hams but they both power on. One is the Alinco DJC1T and the other the Alinco DJC4T. I'm considering selling them to help fund Film School tuition. Does anyone have an idea of what I should list these two radios for? I know this isn't a classified post, but if there's anyone with interest, let me know. They both seem to operate, but I do not have a microphone or headphones for them so cannot test them. They're also in great physical/visual shape. One has a plastic sleeve and both antennas retract with no problem. I have photos if you need them.

Should I keep these? My wife and I love to take long off-road rides on our dual sport bikes and was curious if they'd be best to keep for emergency communication backups? Thank you for any and all advice I appreciate it and hope you have a great day!

Those "credit-card-sized" little HTs should not be considered for any "emergency" work. And with no charger, you're going to have to find someone with a charger to sell to.

And they are so old, that their internal batteries are nowhere near the workable condition they were when new.

They are cute, though.

Thank you for your honest opinion on these. I appreciate you taking the time to reach out. I wish I would've reached out to this forum when we were moving our radio station. We got rid of piles of equipment and large beautiful antennas! It was a shame. I'll post some photos of the equipment later on. I thought it was a bad idea to get rid of all of this stuff. Cheers and Happy New Year!
