Danny, W8DLB tells us the Mansfield Mid Winter Hamfest will be no more. They are doing a Trunk Fest in July instead.

That's sad, it was a good hamfest and then it kept getting smaller.

The last time I attended that, it was at the Richland County Fairgrounds, all indoors (good since Feb is very cold in Mansfield), and it occupied the better part of 4 buildings.

That was the very first hamfest I ever attended back in 1977 as a teenager.
Good memories of a good hamfest!

When I started going is was 3 buildings and a very good hamfest. I really thought with the no code licenses hamfest would start gaining popularity. The last time I was there it was down to 1 1/2 buildings.

Online sales have dealt many Hamfests a major blow. Ours has felt that pressure as well.

I think most people have now dumpstered their junk and don't haul it around anymore like in the past. Not worth the small amount of money to be worth it.

This is true. I would tell people if I wanted to make money I would have gone to work instead of coming to the hamfest. It is still a good way to get rid of things to big for USPS or UPS to destroy.
