API for solar data?
« on: February 06, 2022, 02:55:09 PM »

Are there any free or inexpensive API's for simple solar data? Not really interested in data other than simple solar flux number and sunspot info.
-- Thanks
I did see one at openweather but very expensive.

Google K9DUR and go to his website. He has several Ham related free widgets, one of which is Solar Data. It displays SFI, A index, K index and SSN. You can display them on your screen and have instant access to the solar indices.
Hope this helps

You can also listen on a DXCluster telnet feed and look for WWV broadcasts with texts like:
"SFI=84, A=5, K=0, No Storms -> No Storms"

Ok -- was looking for something with a software API call that updates rather than a web page. Just wanted to ask but I doubt if it exists.
Thanks.
