The funeral committee can finally cheer and bury their dead. Funny how the changing business environment can kill even the best laid plans. (Or the worst if you're on the committee.)

The changing business environment had nothing to do with this, that is just another excuse.  Other companies are still functioning in spite of it.  The business environment has always been changing, you either adapt or perish.

Look on the bright side, you no longer have make snarky sanctimonious comments about the funeral committee, it just makes you look petty.  You should be relieved.

But it is so much fun to watch the funeral committee have to come up with excuses to try and not be the funeral committee.

As to the adapt or perish...it exemplifies my point. The amateur radio side of Ten Tec was unable to adapt in any kind of profitable fashion. Somewhere along the line, even the most business savvy people have to throw in the towel on projects that don't pan out. As to an excuse, not really. More like a symptom that many companies are currently struggling with.

And here is why. Hams simply will not pay the price needed based on wholesale parts price rises and shortages. And shortages breed even higher parts prices. Now cash flush companies can absorb some of that temporarily. Which in turn causes some companies inability to compete and to fall out of the price range that customers will pay. The inflation we see in today's economy is still working its way into many products. Products that are produced and consumed more on a daily basis have seen some of the sharpest price rises. Others that are not sold by the thousand (like HR high price tag items) have not yet fully felt this price pressure...YET. But you can bet that in the near future, all HR products will have fairly large price increases...or the company gets out of the business. Ten Tec's inability to become a viable profitable HR company is just as much to do with economics of the day as much as any decisions made in the past. Maybe that's why it is now and not a year ago that Mike threw in the towel.

OK funeral committee...have at it. I will enjoy a few more good laughs at your expense.

Oh, you mean like telling the truth about Ten Tec? Kind of like telling the folks in Jones town not to drink that stuff.

They buy Elecraft K4's, they buy Flex 6600M's.  Whatever you have to tell yourself.

Quote from: Ten-Tec
Ten Tec is not out of business.  We are developing new products and will introduce them if and when we can obtain components.  When we have resources, we might put some of the parts online in the parts store, but this will not be anytime soon.

It is amazing how this owner has stayed committed to trying to revive Ten-Tec despite the investment and costs of this endeavor.  I am thankful that there are still folks out there who love amateur radio enough to NOT throw in the towel despite huge challenges (and lots of vocal armchair CEOs, critics, and haters).
From what i gather, the original owners of Ten-Tec spent the last few decades making a very small (if any) profit off of their ham radio gear, but did well enough in other areas to let their love of ham radio shine thru.   I am thankful to them and also the current owner for their dedication to ham radio.

My Ten-Tec Jupiter (Dec 2009 build) and my Argonaut VI are still going FB and i am proud to have these well-made American rigs as the only two i own. If push comes to shove i may eventually get a 7300 or DX-10 as a replacement, but when it comes to CW i will definitely miss the old Ten-Tecs! ...or maybe i will purchase an RGO ONE

Whether or not things will one day turn around remains to be seen, and it doesn't look like the funeral committee is willing to stop throwing stones until they can dance on their imaginary grave.

All you seem to do is pretend that Ten Tec will be just like it was, and you fantasize that you will get special treatment because you were such a good, and stalwart follower of the faith.  If you want to live in fantasy land that's OK with me. ::) ::)

Such passion over toy hobby radios.  Amazing.  That is a done deal, they ain't coming back, and you just can't stand it, sad really.  :'( :'(

Just as you hate those who held or still hold out hope. Just admit it.
