Cloning 2 Baofeng UV-B6 HT's
« on: February 10, 2022, 12:46:13 PM »

I was gifted 2 Baofeng UV-B6 radios that cannot be programmed with CHIRP.

I thought they would a backup glovebox extra.

After manually programming one radio I want to clone the 2nd radio using the 2 pin cloning cable.
After trying the method shown on line used for the UV-5R nothing transfers.

Does anyone know the procedure for the UV-B6?

Please don't comment about "buying a "real" radio. I've got several of those already. I am just trying to clone two disposable radios as free backups.

UPDATE

Apparently the CHIRP for the UV-B5 does work for the B6

Additionally.....The cloning cable I purchased has no continuity from one end to the other. That would be an issue ::) ::) ::). Back to Amazon it goes.

All is good. I now have 2 free radios both programmed alike for backup. I added a couple of SMA to BNC connectors and they are good to hook up to the mobile vehicle antennas if and when needed.
