Just to update the thread, of course the POTA auto uploader or maybe more properly called the "self uploader" has been in operation for some time now and works great. No more waiting for a volunteer to upload your logs to the site. You just do it yourself when you get back out of the field. Or even in the field if you want and have an internet connection.
They do advise looking over your log a few times to get errors out, you can't correct mistakes once it has been uploaded to POTA. I upload my ADIF file to the QSOMAP.ORG site first, it runs all the calls thru QRZ and lets you know if you have any that aren't valid callsigns (typos you made, etc).
After 20 activations since July with 3000+ contacts uploaded, it has been inevitable that a couple of bad calls got in there. Once I discovered them, rather than bother the POTA volunteers to correct it, I make a new log file with just the one (or two one time) corrected calls and upload that, they get automatically added to the activation. The bad call is ignored since there isn't really anyone in the POTA database to give the contact credit to :-)
It's been a great Summer and Fall of activating up in the mountain parks in Colorado :-) I've discovered awesome scenery only 20 miles from home (via the back entrance to a State Park at 9400 ft elevation) that I never knew existed after 40 yrs living here !!
