Lutron wireless switches
« on: March 01, 2022, 05:13:07 PM »

Anyone have any experience with Lutron wireless lighting controls? NOTE: these are the control switchplates - the dimmer/ssr packs are separate and a control processor talks to the control surfaces and then tells the dimmer packs what to do.

i’ve been told the wireless switchplates are on 430MHz
in a dedicated allocation. Even assuming that is true, a 440 rig
could potentially argue with desensing if nothing else.

If you know what a Litetouch forklift upgrade is, you understand my problem in the large. What I don’t want to do is wear out the forklift and then find i have an EMI problem.

Any experience info much appreciated.

The ham band for UHF is 420-450 MHz. I doubt their frequency in in the ham band. Besides what is the chance you are going to be using the switch while operating on UHF?

Many things operate in the Amateur 70 cm band. These lighting controllers are only one example.

Communicates using Radio Frequency (RF) at 431 MHz to 437 MHz. •  Thousands of system addresses prevent interference between systems. •  Can be assigned to control blinds, curtains or lighting devices that are within a 30 ft (9 m) range. •  Can be configured as a scene or zone control in GRAFIK EyeR  QS wireless applications.

Strange but my garage door opener remote says that it operates in the same frequency range.

I stand corrected.

I think we share 420-450 MHz band with the military.  And that they like us as neighbors, and wouldn't want others in this band. As hams and the military share the band well.
