Just for kicks, I went back and re-read all your comments on this thread, some I missed before. Now I see your thinking, mind-set, and where you’re coming from. Others can too, and form their own opinion.

Michael N6MST,

In an attempt to somewhat reason with you....

We obviously have differences of opinion. But labeling me a racist without any basis is defamatory to my character, and uncalled for in the scope of comments in a ham radio, or any, forum. I don't know what compelled you to say that. If you're so inclined, go back and read my comments that debated and involved you. You'll see that not once did I attack you personally nor question your character...just presented a different opinion that these forums are designed to stimulate. I did mock your use of "ya", but only in jest, as you used it all the time...certainly not a stain on your character. Oh, and I did refer to you as "childish" ;). If you took offense to those, my apology. To the contrary, You have referred to my comments as "brainwashed drivelous rants", "drinking the Kool-Aid", "some sort of twisted", "ding ding comments"...all taken as humorous. But calling me a racist sticks in my craw, and I really take offense to that. I have no connection to that word.

When I post on these forums, I do so to try to help people with questions on topics that I have some experience with, and present my viewpoints on issues where they're encouraged. Without getting personal. I expect the same in return. It's just a hobby.

I don't like conflict, and hope we can come to an understanding. We have our differences, I respect and understand your opinions, and I wish you nothing but the best. If you respond to this in another derogatory manner, so be it. At least I tried.

From the ARRL weekly newsletter:
Quote
"It will not accept competitive entries in any of its sponsored contests by amateur radio stations in Russia, Belarus, or the separatist Donbas region of Ukraine (unofficial D1 prefix).

I agree with the position of not working Russian stations. Realistically, there is a lot more important things in life than ham radio and there comes a point in world conflicts where ham radio becomes irrelevant and we are past that point now. The parallels between this attack and the events in the 1930's in Europe that led to WW-II cannot and should not be ignored.

The reality of Ham Radio in Russia isn’t anything like it is in our country. You and your family are vetted for acceptability long before you are given the opportunity to get a license. Those politically worthy are allowed to get licenses, there are no politically incorrect hams in Russia! An example of this is a comment by a Russian ham just yesterday when some opposition to contacting Russian hams in their contest was made:

"The Ukrainian Nazis, who have been shelling Donetsk and Luhansk for 8 years, do not understand kind words. They only understand power. A pill will not help with gangrene, only amputation will help with gangrene. And they have gangrene of consciousness. An ax helps with a sore head. The doctor came to see them."

This statement is almost word-for-word from the propaganda released by the Russian leadership.

Ignoring the invasion of Ukraine is by default, accepting this act as being “normal” and that is just what the Russian leadership wants. Continuing to contact Russian stations is simply a slap in the face and a gun to the head of the Ukrainian people.

To be clear, the quote attributed to me by W7MY below are not my words or opinion on this matter.

Governments take sides.

Hams take sides.

Ham Radio doesn't take sides.

And what any one man considers too firmly and too easily to be the truth is more than likely propaganda.
