I never understood why ANY third-party payment handler such as PayPal, Venmo, etc. should be involved in any way with disputes between buyer and seller. This crap was never a thing until online payment methods became available.
The payment handler should have no authority whatsoever to decide who is right and who is wrong. That should be ONLY between buyer & seller, just like old times. People have traded for hundreds of thousands of years before all of this with the understanding that both parties were assuming an amount of risk. If somebody got burned, they would pursue it using conventional means - duke it out, call the sheriff, go to civil court, file mail fraud charges, etc.
PayPal and other payment processors who treat the trading parties like children should be stripped of their ability to do so.....
