I had my  YAESU 857D checked by KB4JHU  good while back he fixed my problem turn out it was on packet mode i said no wonder can't hear that good lol i got sick 2019 due to storke the radio was in backpack using ft-857D to backpacking to go out in woods with me it was put it away while then got sick 2019 with storke i pull the rig out closet decide to use the 857D again as i said it was set on packet i forgot it was set packet mode i was so happy got rig back on the air.

So now i use use it at home with 4 way swich 3  differnce radios and a dummy load work great for first time since yesterday i checked in the 68 group on 7.268.00 group i was running Heil Goldline on my setup bob said eq off and set -300 and +300 which is gave a better audio   .

The net control said sounded real good so did kb4jhu he can tell big difference on that micorphone from hand micorphone big difference on heil goldline !

So anyway ft 857D is back on the air frist time in a awhile ! now talk my ham friend on 68 group !!

Forgot to metion i blind on my right eye which hard for me to see that good i'm still have good eye on my left side ! i had catrack done my left eye i see little better ! dr told said nothing he can do my right eye complely gone ! it sucks !

I will listen for you on the '68 group'.  Good bunch of people.  I only get in 2 or 3 times a month right now (usually mobile).

Glad you got the 857 back up.  I like that radio.

thanks ! i heard Bob Heil think was saturday heard him on 68 group 268 on 40 meter i heard call k9eid  i jump  on it try get hold of Bob Heil he went poof by time i try to reach him no luck lol
