Top tube on a 220 Ringo. .388 inches. Where to find?
« on: April 02, 2022, 12:52:56 PM »

My cows discovered an unlatched door, entered my garage, and laid waste to the interior.  Among other things, they stomped the new to me, Ringo Ranger II 220 that I bought used, one day before.

The top section is what got trashed, and it appears to be .388 inches in diameter.

Can I just buy a piece, or do I have to call MFJ?

Thanks

It's just 3/8" OD.  It's a pretty common OD for antennas.  Should be available on eBay, maybe Amazon and from other sellers or a local metals salvage yard.  How long did you need?

Either 3/8" tubing or solid rod should work.  Rod will be heavier,
but probably not an issue.  (It also might be more cow-resistant.)

A lot of home improvement stores should carry something that
will work, even if it isn't perfect.

Only if it is electrified or barbed rod... Even that may not help.

Send the ringleader to the slaughter house. Unless she hasn't calved yet.

It's almost BBQ season if you live up north.

Around here, that won't work. They know they can get away with it because butcher appointments are 6 to 8 months out. Besides, she will blame it on the steer - no bull.
