Can I use a normal USB cable with FT891 and RT Systems or do I have to buy their cable?
Thanks

You have to use their cable, but if the 891 has an SD slot, your would only need the software.

Just talked to RT Systems. On the 891, you can use a standard USB cable. You do not have to use one of theirs, at least for this particular radio.
Other models are not the same, but for the 891, you're good to go.

I have an FT991A and I took the USB cable from my printer and used it, without issues, with the RT software and my radio. The same for my TS 590SG.
