Posed Review and eHam refused to Post
« on: May 19, 2022, 08:02:58 PM »

I remember I owned an Amp Supply amplifier briefly and posted a review. I mentioned it was only a 400 watt amp vs some stating a ridiculous 700 watts output from four sweep tubes. I did not refer to other posts. eHam decided not to post my review.

While yours does not mention a specific review it's obviously critical of another review's statements.

From the Reviews Terms & Conditions:
"Do not submit a product review criticizing another review or reviewer."

Hmmmm, let me get this straight…no one can ever refute a post even if the original post is in error. In general and without regard to the first post above, it seems this policy lowers all review’s credibility and is in direct opposition to scientific and technical discussion norms. Obviously professional decorum must be observed and if not, would be reason for removing a post.

In other words, first guy to give a product a good (or bad) review has the floor and can never be disagreed with.  Gee.....what a great review system!

Some reasons for this T&C are to defuse back and forth discussion/disagreements that can eventually turn into flame-wars, etc.

If someone questions an aspect of a prior review they can submit their own relevant review opinion without mentioning or being critical of someone else's review opinion. Its done frequently and usually Approved for posting.

Anyone should be able to present a product opinion without fear of being "called out" over some possible inadvertent inaccuracy or misstatement.

As mentioned above the reviews are personal opinions someone wants to share with others.  They've never been held up as scientific or technical discussions.  Discussion mean two-way exchanges.  As stated in the T&Cs the reviews are not a Forum for discussions.  eHam's Forums are the venue for those.

You are not correct. The review did not have any reference to another review!

... vs some stating a ridiculous 700 watts output ...

Isn't that obviously critical of someone else's review?

Maybe if you'd have left out words like "ridiculous" it would have made it in.
