jOHNSON RADIO MAROON PAINT
« on: May 25, 2022, 04:44:14 AM »

I have one more new can of Johnson Maroon spray paint that I purchased on ebay from a guy that made up paints for all brands of equipment.  The can is CF-5251, and that gentleman was in poor health and is no longer available as a source.

This paint matches the panels on my pair of Johnson 500 and has been a great touch up for nicks in my thunderbolt 6n2, thunderbolt, ranger, viking2, and valient rigs.  Before I use it up I plan on getting a good sample made up at the local auto paint store.  It will be expensive but I have never found any better match, kona brown is ok but no where close, and can not be used for touchups or panel repainting.

I want to see if there is any interest for this paint, so I can plan on getting more or less, depending if others have a need.  I would then provide it in smaller paint cans for touchup or spraying.  I will update this posting with the paint type and brand and its costs before committing to my purchase.  I would make it available at my cost plus fed ex shipping it there is an interest.

Let me know,  I know that the panels I have redone look great, I even sent one to radio daze and had them copy / commission a decal set that is available for the ranger transmitter.  They offer many decal sets for those who choose to redu a rigs panel.

Enjoy, W  :)  :) d y

I would be interested in some paint. I generally prefer to leave my BA's unrestored with battle scars and all, but I need to strip and respray a cabinet that someone painted with "something close". Spray cans would be convenient, but I could dig out my spray gun.
