2nd set of contacts on Beede FS1MADC panel meter?
« on: May 25, 2022, 06:55:16 PM »

I can't post a picture here, but I have obtained a couple of nice 1ma Beede panel meters removed from some medical equipment. Each of these has a second set of smaller screw contacts below the primary main contacts on the back the meter.

The contacts have 0 ohm resistance between them, and about 1/2 ohm resistance to the negative main contact for the meter.

Has anyone seen something like this and have a guess as to what the 2nd set of contacts would be for? They are obviously not for illumination.

Yea, a couple of small pics would be nice. Maybe a link to a couple of pics.

Are you sure they are contacts, or simply screws that hold the movement in the case?

When you measure across the extra contacts, does the meter deflect at all?

second the notion that those screws hold the movement into the case, I've seen it before on a meter I had to relabel the scale on.

Thanks, I think you are right. Loosening the screws causes the insides of the meter to come loose.

They have a lockwasher and a fiber washer bewteen the lockwasher and the case, but I think they are structural.
