It was off to a bad start. Lots of features did not even work when it was first released.
The end result for me is, not interested.
The latest QST reviews the X6100. I'm interested in seeing how much they have either fixed or improved on the design.
I lost interest and purchased an IC 705.

the 6100 will be eventually replaced with another rig and will never be a finished nor achieve the commercial success of the G90... xiegu rigs are in constant beta with many unfinished features that never appear as originally promised... witness the x1m, g1m, x108, x5105, GSOC, a small amplifier (rarity, had one, it worked but confusing to use)... now xiegu has introduced a dsp outboard audio filter box, the grn1, which suspiciously looks like a JPS NIR-10

I will never buy another thing from them, they have a well proven track record of releasing half-baked radios and then never really finishing them off before moving on to the next new thing.  I'm really surprised people keep falling for this.

it is a shame, really... great concepts, but poor QC, poor software polishing, poor follow-thru... i just don't understand why... the company must be flogging a lot of its radios in order to continually develop, make, and release half-baked, 'just good-enuf' transceivers...

I agree, they could have had a booming company if they would put more focus into QC and polish, but I feel like they are slowly destroying themselves by continuing down this path.  I really wanted the X6100 to be finished off, I would love to have one, but no way am I buying one now after seeing how they pretty much abandoned the G90, the GSOC, and now it looks like the updates/fixes for the 6100 have slowed down as well.

Potential, maybe.

Not wanting to be a beta tester I passed and for not much more got
IC7300.  I wanted something known to work and had track record.

I had one, it was very bad.
So was the gsoc.
The G90 is not bad at all now, it was bad when it came out.
They release things before the software is done, and then it screws up the radio when they can not get it done for whatever reason (hardware in the 6100 and gsoc case).

Its true they are ruining their reputation.
