Yaesu Repair Recommendations - Canada
« on: June 19, 2022, 07:05:03 PM »

I have an FT-450 which needs professional attention, and I'm in Vancouver BC.

. . . Does anyone have a suggestion for a Canadian repair service for Yaesu ham gear ?

NTF Communications (Calgary) pops up through Google, but there may be others available.

Thanks --

.      Charles

PS -- the symptom:

With DC power applied, when I press the On/Off button, I get "click - click - click . . . . ", at 162 beats per minute.

I've checked the power supply, power cord, fuses, plugs / socket -- all OK.

No body that I'm aware of in B.C.  At one time you could get your Yaesu, Kenwood, or Icom radio repaired in Vancouver.  However, lack of support by the ham community caused the demise of two of the three ham stores we once had.  Icom of course still has their facilities but for the other two nothing.  If NTF in Calgary say they can repair Yaesu and have had good reviews, then send the radio to them.  There are some independent Yaesu repair shops down South that have had excellent reviews here on eHam, and if I ever need my FT950 tending to, it will go to one of them.
73..and good luck
