Bad experience with N9EMC
« on: June 24, 2022, 09:52:01 AM »

I bought several items from Joe Herreweyers, N9EMC. Sent a check and was deposited a couple of days later back in May. Nothing received.

Sent several emails. Finally received one back saying he was at work and would send the tracking number that evening.

Days later and still no items I purchased ($310) and no email.

I don't recommend dealing with Joe, N9EMC. I will update if anything arrives or if I receive either an email or a refund.

Too bad you didn't check the feedback forum on qth.com.  He has a pile of bad stuff there.

Received an email that the items were shipped. Will update the results here. Still would not recommend this gentleman.

Also, thank you, W4AOK. I'll have to check out those listings.

Update: Yeah, looks like he's a well-known scammer from several years ago:

Update.

Received a box from N9EMC. It was missing one of the items I bought (the Ham IV controller). I let Joe know and he said he would get it out right away. Has not arrived yet and he has not supplied a tracking number or a partial refund.

The box with everything else was not cushioned well. One of the remote controllers for switching antennas had no cushioning and has parts rolling around inside, plus a big dent from the Alliance rotor packed next to it.

So that's where we are as of this date and time. Will update if needed, thank you.

After promising to get the missing rotor controller out, N9EMC stopped responding to emails asking for either a refund ($50 for the rotor controller) or a tracking number.

At this point I'm assuming I've been scammed by a repeat scammer. I'm going to cross-post to QRZ, plus I'll talk to my local small-town postmaster and ask her to forward a complaint to the post office investigators. I sent a check by mail and it was cashed right away, so should fall into the post office fraud folks.

Should a box appear, I will do a final update. Either way, I recommend avoiding N9EMC in any capacity involving money or goods.

OK, I'm going to close out this thread since he never sent the item I paid for, won't refund, and refuses to respond. Joe Herreweyers, N9EMC, scammed me. He is a repeat scammer (see the QTH link). It's unfortunate that there are actual ham radio operators that are thieves and liars, but some will always worm their way into any group. Most of the time it's people pretending to be a ham.

Avoid Joe Herreweyers, N9EMC, especially when it comes to money or equipment. Remember, he is a repeat scam artist. Don't give him a chance to rip you off too.

It's a shame that he didn't take proper care in shipping the items you did get.
Sounds like a guy who just doesn't give a sh*t.
