Switching digital app problems
« on: July 12, 2022, 09:29:31 AM »

In the last few days, I'm experiencing issues when I change from JTAlert/WSJT-X to fldigi and vice versa.  When I exit one and start the other, I lose rig control.  It's worked fine in the past as I typically will do a bit of FT-8 and then some BPSK.  After experimenting a bit, it seems that I have to shut the radio (IC-7300) down and turn it back on... then it works fine again.

Since I found a work-around, I'm okay... but still annoying.  It seems to have started after the latest Windows 11 update... don't know if it's related.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks,

Ron

Yup.  I have to reset my 7410 when switching back and forth between WSJT-X and FLDigi.

YUP, I too use a 7300 and I notice some apps will take control of the USB port and won't release it properly so a power off/on cycle fixes the problem...an annoyance!

Does anyone know if this is fixed if you use an app like WIN4ICOM that can setup multiple pass-through ports to multiple other programs?
