FT-1000MP MKV (200w) No 30v VCC
« on: September 01, 2022, 10:44:20 AM »

Need good sources of info anyone? Google doesn't turn up much. My rig is currently receive only as the 30v line for the finals isn't getting where it should. FP-29 is OK. I think trouble might be on REG Unit board but don't quite understand what's going on there. It's also hard to get to. Might have to sell for parts or project rig.

Yes, he's fixed my stuff before, first class service. However today's shipping costs tend to discourage it. We'll see.

I would also be happy to repair it for you if you cant find anyone else. If you unhook the RED power wire to the PA , then measure he VCC and see if it comes back up to 48, "Some" times the PA will have a low resistance short on it and cause the VCC to crowbar.  www.N4ATS.com

Thanks for the offer.
I finally accessed the REG Unit. It appears the relay in the 30v line is erratic: lightly tapping it results in it activating. It's a nominal 12v relay and 13.5v is available on the board. Relay is Omron G4PE-1117P, Yaesu California has none but they're checking if Japan has any so I'll wait and see what happens :)

OK, to close the loop, Japan Yaesu came thru' and I installed the new relay, bit fiddly.

All seems OK now, have had it on "soak" for the last few days  :)
