I owned a Begali Spark and enjoyed the silky smooth action. Having grown up on American-style keys the Begali with its pump handle design had a heavier action.

Not sure if my opinion really counts, because the Spark is the first, and only straight key I've ever owned. I picked it this past April, and I'm very pleased with the purchase. The base is nice and heavy, so it doesn't wander off as I tap harder to compensate for my poor sending skills.  The arm movement is very smooth, and I never found the need to adjust the gap from the factory setting.   Additionally, the oversized Navy-style knob is a nice fit and feel to it.  Everybody's got there own tastes and budget, but the Begali Spark is worth looking at.

Jackie and all,
Many tnx for your cw participation. I'm relearning and getting better too.
Practice daily. Sending is important to enhance copying. It's one of those muscle memory/tactile feedback things. Improving weekly.
Know this: you can spend the rest of your life looking for "apps" to learn the code and you will never get there. Practice sending and copying a few minutes most days.
And really important :  Get on the air ! Greatly enhances the learning process.
Mistakes sending and asking for repeats are ok. Perfection is not needed when we are learning.
And you will discover new and interesting people. A big plus: you are helping others practice cw.
Will get the Begali Spark. I do love heavy and long arm keys. Light and tiny keys are in my backpack! SKCC and FISTS websites have wonderful resources.
