For the most part, avoid "intelligent" models with Bluetooth, touch switches, cameras and Internet connectivity.

You might want to take a portable radio when you shop.
And look for FCC Part 15 class B, not class A. It does make a difference!
All the fancy new technology uses square waves and is prone to noise if not filtered/shielded.

Home Dept sells contractor or builder grade appliances.  While lacking in features, they may be exactly what you need for a modest home.
Contractors certainly aren't brand loyal.  They will switch to whatever provides the lowest hassle factor which should translate to good reliability for what you spent.
It is often the added features that cause issues.

Unfortunately, you are not likely to find either one, since appliances are exempt from Part 15 technical standards.

Also in general stay away from any kind of "energy saving" or "green" compressor technology. Same as heat pumps, furnaces etc. Anything that saves energy by attempting to "throttle" a compressor or fan is a huge RFI generator.

K0UA is correct, those energy saving VFD type compressors are bad for RFI. ( Variable Frequency Drive )
A while back we switched our Air Handlers on each floor of a high rise building to VFDs. Very noisy on all bands.

That is true for the base appliance. If it is a refrigerator with a monitor and Internet connection that is marketed to the home consumer, for example, then the 'extra' electronics must meet Part 15 B.

True enough, and any transmitters would have to be tested to the appropriate rule part as well.

Somewhat serious question though, why in hell would I want my refrigerator on the internet?

Well, if you are in hell, a picture of something cool might be desirable.

I can recommend two refrigerators that I'm using that are RFI-clean:

Sub-Zero (Pro version)
LG (LMXS Series using a linear compressor)

I saw a new refrigerator that had a built in electric pencil sharpener.
